Born on the 18th of March, 1982 to parents Hansuki and Asami Mai-Lee Rento, Taisei Yuuma Rento is the second eldest of five sons and a daughter. The product of an unhappy arranged marriage, Taisei's childhood could be described as being rocky at best.Hansuke, his father - was a strict catholic and one in the long line of noble blood distantly related to the emperor.Drunk on money, alcohol, and power, the man was subject to rages that lead to him beating on his strong willed, disobedient, wife and sometimes even taking out his anger on his sons and most particularly, on his young, and only daughter. Frequent violence in the Rento Estate home lead to a strained relationship between Taisei and his father and a turbulent childhood as well as helped shape the man he would become later in life.However, from an early age, Taisei showed great levels of intelligence and natural authority and leadership. Born as a tender, mild soul. He dreamed of one day being able to help those around him in any way he could. This ressolve only hardening, when in his seventh year of life, Hansuke's father, Taisei's paternal grandfather had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital, and upon arrival with his mother, brothers and sister. In January of 2001, while attending Muyukio Academy — a chance meeting with Kaoru Sai, the emperor’s eldest son, changed Taisei’s life for the better. Though the pair could sometimes be described more as rivals than lovers. It wasn’t long before it was clear the match was meant to be — but also harbored danger. In a society described as conservative at best, the pair’s relationship was forced to remain in the shadows and put under strain, when on the eve of Taisei’s 20th birthday, a turbulent and alcohol fueled argument over his resumed refusal to marry accidentally outted Taisei not just to his father, but to the rest of the royal court as well. Humiliated, and angry. Hansuke’s reaction was to disown his son and strip him of the power and wealth that came with his name, and with it came his sudden departure from the academy and his dream of being a surgeon shattered.Thrown out on the street and cut off from his family —— Taisei struggled to adjust to life in Tokyo’s back alleys and rougher neighborhoods. But in the spring of 2003, at the age of 23, a beacon of hope appeared. Reiko Atsuya, the owner of an exclusive host and escort club, known as “Kobra” to her clients, took an interest in the young man she found broken and bleeding behind her club and offered him a job. Catering to the worst of the upper society by sometimes selling so much more than a smile or his company. Taisei quickly made powerful connections.Perhaps though, the most notable was Zara Romanova , a Russian lone wolf terrorist and hitwoman who quickly befriended him. Drawn in by his easy charm. Taisei soon found a true friend and confidant in the young woman and soon enough found himself opening up to her about his childhood, father, the abuses he’d suffered at the hands of Japan’s upper class. Including even Reiko herself, and even the long lost love he hoped to find.Then, in the fall of the same year, what could possibly be considered a miracle happened. Zara, having taken the information given to her, tracked down Sai at Tokyo University’s Medical School, where he was completing several degrees in nursing. And after some convincing, persuaded the prince to come with her the next time she saw Taisei. Confiding in him her concerns for his well-being, Kaoru agreed to see him.Upon seeing each other—— it was almost like the lost romance between them was rekindled on sight. As inseparable as before, it didn’t take long for the scandalous love to catch the eye of the club’s owner and before long, their secret was out. Threatening to expose the prince for his involvement with Taisei ( who by then was her lead escort and salesman ) in a fit of jealousy. Kobra became possessive of his every move.But Kaoru had a plan, relentlessly shrewd. He had already been making arrangements to use his connections to the royal family to earn Taisei a place beside him at Tokyo University where once again his dream was a possibility. However years of being on the streets had hardened Taisei’s heart and taught him to be a shrewd businessman and natural born leader. Particularly gifted in manipulating others.And, in the spring of 2004, he was ready to leave. Having amassed a small fortune off of conning wealthy businessmen who frequented her club. Taisei informed Reiko of his intention to leave, and maybe that was his singular mistake. Driven to desperation, Kobra attacked him in a fit of rage over losing her lead money-maker. His violent encounter with her would later shape the way he saw others like him and start him on the path to becoming the vigilante he became.Safely whisked away with Kaoru by his side. It didn’t take long for Taisei to catch on at the university and be seen as an up and coming young surgeon. His mentors often taking note of his determination to learn. And before long, his ability to perform what was often noted as miracles quickly earned him a new name for himself.But as he grew brighter in the medical field, he was harboring another secret. His time on the street had introduced him to the production, sale and trade of opium, Asia’s most notorious narcotic. It didn’t take long before news of his feats as both a surgeon and a drug dealer earned him followers that would later come to be known as the Sai-Rento Mafia. And with Kaoru at his side, it was only a matter of time before reconnecting with his siblings was possible, when a few months later, he was able to reach out to his older brother, JG who was still working as the emperor’s head of security in the royal palace.
